Call for "Plan Slam!" Sessions

Submit Your Proposal by Monday, September 1

The Plan Slam is back by popular demand!! We are again inviting planners to propose fun, educational, and thought-provoking short stories to tell their peers. This is your opportunity to share big ideas about the planning world in a short presentation, and in a highly visual (and entertaining/engaging) way.

We plan to host a Plan Slam! on Friday morning, October 10th during the 2025 APA WA Conference in Tacoma.

What’s Plan Slam?

  • Much like a PechaKucha (which is a trademarked name), presentations may be up to 20 slides, with each slide showing for 20 seconds.
  • The whole presentation may be no longer than six minutes and 40 seconds. Slides will auto-advance after 20 seconds, so brevity and focus are the name of the game.
  • Presentations should make a quick impression and share something memorable and fun. We encourage you to use more images than words on the slides, and to ensure that your presentation is clever and interesting.
  • Need some tips? Check out this example here.

Interested?

Submit your Plan Slam! proposal by September 1st (Labor Day!).

In your proposal, please include your name, a summary of the topic, and why this presentation will be educationalthought-provoking, fun, and entertaining.  The conference committee will review the proposals and notify presenters by September 15 (they may reach out to you with questions).  If selected, you'll be part of a six-topic lineup, presenting in rapid-fire to an adoring crowd.

Questions? Send an email to [email protected] with “Plan Slam!” in the subject line, and we’ll get right back to you.
