How To Submit Articles

The Washington Planner, published bi-monthly, is the membership publication of the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association. Publications are released near the end of even-numbered months.

Copy

  • Submit copy by the 30th of the month prior to the odd-numbered month.
  • Submit via e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word format to office@washington-apa.org.
  • Please include the article title and list author(s) with appropriate credentials if applicable (AICP, AIA, etc.) in the document. 
  • We recommend the article is no longer than 500-600 words. If this is significantly too short, consider breaking the article into several installments to be included in several issues.
  • All submissions are subject to editing and will be published at the discretion of the chapter.

Attached images

  • If articles have embedded images, please submit separate image files.
  • Images may be submitted in .jpg, .png or .gif formats. Photographs should be in .jpg format.
  • Images should be optimized for online viewing at 72 pixels/inch.
  • Images should be in RGB color mode. Images in CMYK color mode are not acceptable.
