Additionally, research has shown that very few young people are aware of urban planning as a profession. As planners, we can be doing much more to include youth voices in our planning projects and attract young people to our profession.

                                Trivia Question

No Trivia Question this month. Stay tuned for next month's Trivia Question.

The answer to last issue's trivia question:

Celebrating a major milestone in regional transportation, which Sound Transit light rail extension had its inaugural ride on Friday, August 30, 2024, significantly enhancing transit connectivity in the Puget Sound Region?

B) The Lynnwood Link Extension. The Lynnwood Link Extension celebrated its opening on August 30, 2024, marking a significant expansion of the Sound Transit light rail network. This extension connects Seattle to Lynnwood, bringing Snohomish County into the regional transit system for the first time. The event was notable for its large crowds, community festivities, and the participation of local and national dignitaries. The extension not only promises to streamline commutes but also supports environmental goals by offering a sustainable alternative to driving, evidenced by remarks emphasizing its potential to reduce toxic pollutants affecting local salmon populations. This project is part of a larger plan to nearly double the light rail system, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing public transit across the region.
