Annual Membership Meeting and Notice of Proposed By-Laws and Dues Changes

Date October 17, 2024 

Location: Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue (at the conference)

Members will vote on:

1. A proposed increase in Chapter Member dues from 25% to 30% of national's APA dues. This adjustment aims to stabilize the Chapter's revenue and maintain service delivery. This is the first dues increase in 10 years.

The board approved these changes on July 12, 2024. The notice fulfills the requirement to publish amendments one month before the Annual Meeting to  be held on October 17, 2024, at the Annual Conference. 

2. Proposed by-laws changes to align the current APA WA Board of Directors election cycle with that of the national APA association.

Key Details:

- Current Dues:25% of national APA dues

- Proposed Dues:30% of national APA dues

- By-laws change to Section 3.2 of the Chapter Bylaws (“Officers: Election and Terms”) to modify when officers' terms begin and end, to align with national APA’s officer terms and election cycle

This proposal follows unanimous board approval on July 12, 2024. The last dues increase more than ten years ago.

This notice in the Chapter newsletter is intended to satisfy the requirement of Bylaws Section 9.2, which mandates that the amendment be published in a Chapter publication at least one (1) month before the Annual Meeting of the Chapter Membership.
