Pass the AICP Exam in 2024!

Have you been thinking about taking the AICP exam? There’s no time like the present!! Check out the One Path to AICP (planning.org) website to find out what is involved. Here are some highlights:

• All APA members can register to take the AICP exam (years of experience are not relevant until the second phase of the exam process when the applicant assessment is conducted). If you want to apply, make sure you are ready to sit for the exam when you sign up – the registration-to-exam turnaround time is very short and there is a lot of material to study!

• Sign up for the 2024 APA-WA AICP Exam Prep 1-day in-person session occurring in Winter 2024 before the Spring exam. Class details are not yet finalized, but stay tuned so you can get prepared to be successful on the exam!

• Consider applying for the AICP Certification Diversity Scholarship – this scholarship is intended to help the planning process become more diverse. “Diversity” encompasses, but is not limited to race, ethnicity, class, gender, age, sexuality, ability, educational attainment, spiritual beliefs, creed, culture, tribal affiliation, nationality, immigration status, financial status, political beliefs, and veteran status. See the AICP webpage for more information. The upcoming scholarship application period opens in mid-January and extends into February (the closing date not yet available). The exam application window opens in April and the exam is offered in May.
