President’s Corner: Exciting Midyear Updates and Opportunities

Anne Broache, AICP, Chapter President | July 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2026. As we enjoy summer and the excitement of the World Cup in our state, it’s also a great time to reflect on the progress APA Washington has made so far on its 2026 Work Program.

Some key accomplishments include:

  • Launching a member survey later this month to better understand how we can serve you and your professional needs.
  • Advancing planning for the 2026 Annual Conference: Watch your email and our homepage for early-bird registration opening soon, and join us in Vancouver, Washington, October 7–9.
  • Selecting a new website design and evaluating how to better organize content for members.
  • Exploring branded merchandise opportunities for members who want to show their APA Washington pride.
  • Drafting updates to our Chapter bylaws to reflect current practices and procedures. Look for draft bylaws in the September newsletter, with a membership vote planned during our annual meeting at the Vancouver conference.
