Looking for Auction Item Donations for the Chapter’s Fall ’26 Student Scholarship Fundraising Event

The Student Scholarship Silent Auction is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, in conjunction with the annual conference’s reception. This fundraising event will benefit students at Washington's three Planning Advisory Board (PA)-accredited planning universities.

The Scholarship Committee is asking APA WA Chapter members for donated items for the Silent Auction. The Committee is particularly looking for “experiences” (such as a stay at your second home, a trip on your boat, or an “insider’s tour” of your community), but even asking your local Trader Joe’s or favorite espresso shop for a gift card would be much appreciated.

“Back by Popular Demand” – Fly-Fishing Lesson on a Scenic Lake

Above is a photo of a “Back by Popular Demand” auction item that is once again being generously donated by Chad Eiken and Brian Carrico. I was fortunate to be the successful bidder three years ago and had an amazing, multi-hour experience that included a fun canoe ride to a lake island in Washington Cascades, a fabulous grilled meal, engaging conversation, and of course a fly-fishing lesson.

To donate an auction item or for more information, please contact the Scholarship Committee chairs: Kristen Holdsworth (Holdsworth, Kristen [email protected]) or Steve Butler ([email protected]).
