Did you know…?

In addition to the standard APA membership, there are several different membership categories that you should be aware of as you move through your career as a planner. Some of these member categories may enable you to pay a reduced fee and, depending on your circumstances, you may also have fewer AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) requirements.

                Benefit: Free Membership!

Life Membership – You qualify if you:

  • Have been an active and continuous member for 25+ years; and
  • Are at least 65 years of age.

                Benefit: Reduced APA, AICP, and chapter dues and have two CM exemption options: 1) meet half the CM requirements, including the mandatory CM requirements, or 2) if you are a Life Member who is also retired, you are exempt from all CM requirements.

Retired Membership - You qualify if you:

  • Have been an active and continuous member at least 10 years;
  • Are at least 65 years of age; and
