Planning for Sustainability and Resilience at a District Scale

Session 2B | Wednesday | 2:45 PM – 4:00 PM (PT)

About the Session

What does a sustainable and resilient mixed-use district look like? This session will share lessons from the Wilburton Sustainable District Opportunity Assessment study, outlining the unique challenges and opportunities of planning at the scale of a 300+ acre district with ambitious sustainability and resilience goals. We will dig into the processes that have helped secure buy-in from internal and external stakeholders, integrate aspirations into city codes and policies, and align sustainability and resilience priorities with urban design, affordable housing, mobility, and a number of other citywide and regional goals.
