WA-APA Puget Sound Section Call for Student Scholarship Applications – Due March 15th

The Puget Sound Section is pleased to offer two upcoming scholarship opportunities for students.

  1. National Planning Conference Student Scholarships – The Puget Sound Section will grant up to five $300 awards to currently-enrolled planning students from Pierce, King, and Snohomish counties to attend the 2019 National Planning Conference (NPC) in San Francisco from April 13-16.

To be considered, students must submit proof of NPC registration and a completed application form by March 15. The Puget Sound Section will host a roundtable discussion after the NPC for scholarship recipients to discuss their experience at the conference. Application form can be downloaded here and should be submitted to PSS President Cristina Barone at [email protected]by March 15, 2019.

  1. Student Planning Education Scholarships – This scholarship is provided to promote planning education within the Puget Sound Section of the Washington APA Chapter by providing partial funding to students enrolled in a university. It is anticipated that two $1,250 student scholarships will be awarded as part of this program.

Eligible applications are for students enrolled in a university located in the Washington Chapter during 2019-2020 school term who intend to pursue careers as practicing planners. Students may be enrolled in programs that are focused on Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Public Health, and other similar programs. Applying students should intend to work in the Puget Sound Section following graduation.

Students should plan to attend the APA PSS Holiday Party in Seattle for recognition, tentatively scheduled for December 5, 2019. Application form can be downloaded here and should be submitted to PSS President Cristina Barone at [email protected] on or before March 31, 2019.
