Job Description: Van Ness Feldman (VNF) — a law and policy firm representing clients in energy, environment, land use, real estate, and government relations matters — is hiring a Land Use Planner for its Seattle office.

Minimum of 4 years' land use planning experience required.

This position allows for some flexibility, depending on the candidate’s professional experience level and interest. Our need is for a planning professional who can:

  • Analyze land use, environmental, and permitting issues from a variety of perspectives, including regulator and regulated party;•Balance small, discrete tasks with larger, more complex developments using excellent project management skills;
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to clients, local governments, agencies, and colleagues, often advocating complex or controversial projects or policy positions; and,
  • Collaborate with teams of attorneys, planners, policy professionals, and consultants, while being comfortable in both a lead and support capacity.
