Adopted in 2023, HB 1181 amended the Growth Management Act (GMA) to require a new climate element, which includes resilience and greenhouse gas emissions mitigation sub-elements for certain local governments planning under the GMA. Many local governments are just starting the process to implement these new requirements and may need technical and financial assistance. In this webinar, the Washington State Department of Commerce (Commerce) and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will provide an update on HB 1181 implementation, with a focus on new technical resources and funding opportunities for local governments.
