Webinar Overview

This is the second of three webinars in MRSC’s Local Climate Response Project training series, which is meant to provide cities, counties, and special purpose districts with the tools and training needed to respond to climate impacts. An essential part of this work is seeking out and engaging the communities that are most affected by severe climate events, including degraded air and water quality, food system disruptions, and other climate-related impacts.

Educational Objectives

The webinar will address:

• Why communities that bear the impacts of severe climate events should be front and center in climate planning
• Data and other resources that help local governments identify disparate health outcomes and vulnerable populations within their communities
• Best practices and success stories related to engaging and building trust relationships with frontline communities that are most impacted by climate change
