Transformational Development: Breaking Down Barriers to TOD

Community-led development and public sector leadership are integral to advancing racial equity in transit-oriented development (TOD).

Join industry and community leaders on Friday, October 8 for an event to explore innovative techniques and best practices in building thriving and equitable transit-oriented development throughout the region.

This full-day hybrid event will feature virtual panels in the morning and in-person walking tours in the afternoon. Learn from experts in the field about what’s happening at the national and local levels to help your TOD efforts get out ahead. Feel free to participate in either or both sessions!

The morning Zoom webinar will feature two panels.

  1. Federal Support for Equitable Transit-Oriented Development | 9:15–10:30 AM PT
Featuring speakers from the US Department of Transportation as well as national advocacy and research groups. Learn about what is happening nationally to support equitable TOD and find out what work still needs to be done.

  2. Community-Led Transit-Oriented Development | 10:30–11:45 AM PT
Don’t miss your chance to hear from community leaders and local staff about efforts to engage the community in TOD planning efforts in the region. Help shift power to those most impacted by public and private investment.
