By Paula Reeves, AICP CTP
APA Washington President-Elect

The Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association is seeking candidates for the offices of Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These positions generally require a minimum of a two-year commitment and take office in November 2015.

Four sections are also seeking people wanting to serve as officers:

  • Columbia Section—President elect
  • Northwest Section—President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
  • Peninsula Section—President elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Kitsap Co. Representative, Mason Co. Representative, Clallam Co. Representative, Jefferson Co. Representative
  • Puget Sound Section—President elect, Snohomish County Representative

For more information about the duties and responsibilities of these positions, contact the Section officers (listed on the APA Washington website).

Serving in these roles is an extremely rewarding opportunity to make a contribution to the planning profession in Washington. Chapter and Section Officers help guide the state Board of Directors on a variety of key issues and actions. Serving as an Officer is a chance to give back to the profession, support planners and planning across the state, and make planning a force for positive change.
