Matt Hutchins, AIA, CPHD
Principal, CAST architecture

Matt Hutchins, AIA CPHD co-founded CAST architecture in Seattle in 1999 and is focused on creative infill housing such as backyard cottages and small multiplexes, custom residential, mission-driven institutional works, and mixed-use projects. CAST has completed sixty ADUs, including more than 18 Cedar Cottages under Seattle's Pre-approved DADU program. He was named one of Seattle’s Most Influential People by Seattle Magazine in 2019 for his work passing Seattle’s ADU reform, the nation’s most progressive code. Matt is a passionate advocate for affordable and abundant housing as the Seattle Planning Commission's Co-Chair of the Housing and Neighborhoods Committee. He is the AIA Seattle President and the AIA National Strategic Councilor for Washington State. He is working with other advocates to reform Design Review and improve the Seattle Comprehensive Plan. He has taught design studios at the University of Washington and Arizona State.


Terrance Randall Wilson, JD
Managing Partner, Wilson Law Group of WA

Terrance’s practice focuses on real estate development and the various legal issues affecting developers, property owners, and related consultants in the Seattle area. Since 1996, Terrance has been working with a wide array of land use professionals and regulatory bodies to obtain land use entitlements and permit approvals. This work includes Condominiums, DADUs/AADUs, Unit Lot Subdivisions, Plats, Short Plats, Legal Lot Status, Building Permits, Variances, Code analysis, and coordination with all related consultants and the majority of municipalities and agencies in the greater Puget Sound area.


Sam Alcorn, AICP
Senior Planner, City of Kent

Sam Alcorn is a senior planner for the City of Kent working on the current development review. His experience helping property owners navigate ADU projects gives him a perspective on the challenges for ADU production beyond code changes. Sam brings both knowledge and passion to this subject with a Master's of Urban Planning from UW, 5 years at the City of Kent, an internship with MRSC, as well as extensive experience working with affordable housing non-profits like Habitat for Humanity and Bike&Build.


Kristen Holdsworth, AICP
Long Range Planning Manager, City of Kent

Kristen Holdsworth, AICP, has extensive experience in land use planning, community development, and sustainable urban growth. Her work is characterized by a deep commitment to community engagement, ensuring that the voices of those least likely to have their needs heard are reflected in every project. Kristen excels in fostering collaboration between multiple interests to achieve consensus-driven outcomes. Kristen holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and her passion for creating livable, vibrant communities drives her work. When she’s not working as the Long Range Planning Manager at the City of Kent, she enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, exploring the world around her, and spending time with family.
