Call for "Plan Slam!" Sessions

Deadline has been extended! Submit Your Proposal by Sunday, September 8.

On the heels of the popularity of last year’s breakfast session at the 2023 Spokane conference, we’re once again inviting planners to propose fun, educational, and thought-provoking shortstories to tell their peers. This is your opportunity to share big ideas about the planning world in a short presentation, and in a highly visual way.

We plan to host a Plan Slam! on Friday morning, October 18 during the 2024 APA WA Conference in Bellevue.

What’s a Plan Slam?

  • Presentations may be up to 20 slides, with your narration lingering for up to 20 seconds on each slide.
  • The whole presentation may be no longer than six minutes and 40 seconds. Slides will auto-advance after 20 seconds, so speedy is the name of the game.
  • Presentations should make a quick impression and share something memorable -- and fun. We encourage you to use more images than words on the slides.
  • Need some tips? Check out this example here.

Interested?

Submit your Plan Slam! proposal by September 8.

In your proposal, please include your name, a summary of the topic, and why this presentation will be educationalthought-provoking, fun, and entertaining.

The conference committee will review the proposals and notify presenters by September 16. If selected, you'll be part of a six-topic lineup, presenting in rapid-fire to an adoring crowd.

Questions? Send an email to [email protected] with “Plan Slam!” in the subject line, and we’ll get right back to you.
