Passport to 2044 on Integrating Stormwater Solutions Into Comprehensive Plans

Puget Sound Regional Council and the Washington State Department of Commerce are hosting a Passport to 2044 webinar on how comprehensive plan updates can support stormwater planning and other Puget Sound Recovery strategies.

The webinar is being held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. via Zoom. One AICP CM sustainability and resilience credit is available for attendees who join the event live on Zoom on September 19.

The webinar will begin with a presentation from PSRC Senior Planner Erika Harris as she provides guidance on integrating stormwater solutions into comprehensive plans. A National Estuary Program Planner from the Washington State Department of Commerce, David Pater, will follow up with information on state funding for stormwater projects and the Sound Choices Checklist.

Patrice Carroll, a Strategic Advisor with the Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development, and Sherell Ehlers, a Stormwater Policy Advisor with Seattle Public Utilities, will provide an overview of Seattle’s key stormwater strategies and how they are supported by the city’s comprehensive plan.

The primary audience for this webinar is planning, stormwater, natural resources and other staff and consultants involved with comprehensive planning and Puget Sound recovery. Staff from multiple departments within a jurisdiction are encouraged to attend as well as elected officials, planning commissioners, and others with a role in upcoming comprehensive plan updates. Register here.
