About the Workshop

Join us for a walk through Vancouver's new waterfront development and see how the downtown urban core has been extended to the Columbia waterfront. Learn about this unique public/private partnership which has led to a growing waterfront mixed-use development consisting of residential, office, retail, and restaurant use, a public park with amenities, and a state-of-the-art cable-stayed pier.  Come experience where the City meets the river!

About the Speakers

Greg Turner
City of Vancouver

Greg is currently the Land Use Manager for the City of Vancouver. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and has over 26 years of experience in city planning in California, Oregon, and Washington and 6 years of experience in architecture in California.

Keith Jones, AICP
City of Vancouver

Keith Jones is a development review Senior Planner and case manager at the City of Vancouver. He has a master's degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University and has 25 years of planning and development review experience in Washington and Oregon. He is experienced in shoreline permitting, critical areas, design review, and master planning. Keith currently serves as the development review and permit liaison to the Port of Vancouver.

Mark Person, AICP
City of Vancouver

Mark is currently a Senior Planner with the City of Vancouver and has worked on land use projects in Oregon and SW Washington for over 20 years. Prior to his work in Vancouver, Mark worked at LDC Design Group in the late 1990s on residential projects in Washington County. In the early 2000s, Mark joined MacKay Sposito and worked on a variety of projects in SW Washington. In the late 2000s, Mark joined WB Wells, working on projects throughout the Portland Metro area. In 2013, Mark joined Mackenzie and had the opportunity to work on industrial and commercial projects in Oregon and SW Washington.

Matt Grady, AICP
Gramor Development

Matt Grady went to college at the University of Vermont, in Burlington Vermont graduating with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies (1985). He traveled far west to Hawaii, where he earned a Masters's in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1990. During his 13-year stay in Hawaii, Matt practiced planning and project management on all the Hawaiian Islands for the largest landowners in the state. Matt moved to Portland Oregon in 1995 where he worked for the City of Beaverton as an Associate Planner for 2 years working in long-range planning, current development services, and community block grant projects. In 1997, Matt returned to the private sector where he joined Gramor Development, in Tualatin, Oregon. He has been serving as a VP Director of Development for over 24 years, working on a variety of retail and mixed-use commercial projects in Oregon and Washington. He is a member of the American Planning Association and a Certified Planner. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Matt is a passionate skier on water and snow and enjoys biking, swimming, and the outdoors with his wife Lori, and two sons Ryan and Keenan.
