Announcing the 2015 Joint APA-PAW Awards Program

The Joint Awards Committee is kicking off the 2015 Awards program with the Call for Nominations. The Committee has made several changes to both the program and process this year. We’ve clarified the time periods for which a project or plan must have been completed in order to be considered eligible. New criteria has been added to allow nominees to demonstrate how social equity issues were addressed in their projects/plans. Also, nominations are only being asked to demonstrate compliance with six of the nine review criteria (five of nine for student projects). Finally, a standardized submittal form has been created to assist nominees in organizing their submittals to allow easier review by the awards jury.

There won’t be a fall APA conference this year due to the National APA Conference being held in Seattle in April. However, the Planning Association of Washington is holding its conference in Chelan in early October, so that is where winners will receive their awards. Get to work on your submittals and perhaps we’ll see you receive an award this fall!

If you have any questions about the awards process, contact either of the Committee Co-Chairs, Greg Griffith or Steve Pilcher. Their contact information is contained in the Call for Nominations
