The Initiative for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation (IBPI) would like to make you aware of a unique professional development opportunity.

We are offering a 1.5-day Trail Design course from October 30-31, 2014 at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. This is a highly interactive course that includes classroom presentations and field tours, on bicycle, of some of the biggest trail challenges and best solutions in Portland. Professionals who are engaged in planning, designing or advocating for bicycle and pedestrian networks at the community or regional level are invited to attend.

Participants are encouraged to bring examples of trail challenges they are currently facing in their communities. Those who are tackling trail gaps, difficult crossings, or challenging connections to the on-street network can draw on the expertise of course instructors from Alta Planning + Design as we work as a group to examine issues, find precedents, and sketch out potential solutions.

 

The course will provide approximately 9 hours of training which equals 9 CMs (AICP) or 9 PDHs.
