Job Description:

This position provides professional support to the Land Services division of the Department of Transportation and Land Services. Responsible for processing applications for public hearings and associated permit activity, answering questions regarding planning and land use issues, and conducting field inspections. Duties are performed in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations, standardized design criteria, plans, specifications, procedures, and local governing policies and procedures. Works independently in matters related to both long-range planning and current planning as mandated by State RCW and WAC.

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:

• At least one year of experience working for a local government or private entity dealing with land use applications.
• A four-year college or university degree in urban and regional planning or closely related field.
